‘We’re Better Than This’ – Hannah Tyrrell On Ireland’s Performance Against Japan

Ireland winger Hannah Tyrrell spoke to Irish Rugby TV as she reflected on how the team ground out a 24-14 victory over Japan, which sets up a mouth-watering WRWC 2017 Pool C decider with France on Thursday night.

The Ireland Women had to overcome a poor first half performance that saw them 14 points down against Japan, but they came good during the final half-an-hour as tries from Alison Miller and Paula Fitzpatrick (2) got the job done.

In the aftermath of the game, Hannah Tyrrell admitted: “We made too many unforced errors and we needed to play a bit more direct. We didn’t perform in the first half. We know we’re a better team than that. We came with it in the second half and ground out a result.”
