The top two nations will qualify for the RWC Sevens and Ireland, on 56 points, lead Russia (54 points) and Spain (52 points). Speaking about the sponsorship, David Barry, Director, Blackrock PM, said: “We are a global company and Sevens is a sport that is growing globally. Ireland may be relatively new to the circuit but the Men’s Sevens team have impressed with their development and their success to date.

“We hope that our sponsorship will help them to continue that excellent work as they aim for the Sevens World Cup and the World Series. We want to be on that journey with them.”

Commenting on the announcement, Padraig Power, IRFU Director of Commercial & Marketing, added: “We are delighted to welcome Blackrock PM to the sponsor family. Like us they see the potential in the growth and development of the Sevens team as they work towards their qualification goals.

“Sevens is a growing market for Irish Rugby, adding Blackrock PM to the men’s kit is another exciting milestone for Sevens in Ireland.”
