In preparation for the upcoming 2017/18 season, Connacht have confirmed their pre-season schedule of matches. English clubs Wasps and Bristol will provide quality opposition in the lead up to the new campaign.
The Connacht squad, under new head coach Kieran Keane, will travel to the Ricoh Arena to play Wasps, this year’s beaten Aviva Premiership finalists, on Wednesday, August 23 (kick-off 7.30pm).
The two teams will be familiar with each other having met during the pool stages of the 2016/17 Champions Cup, with both side winning their home match. In round 4 of the competition, Connacht out-half Jack Carty snatched a dramatic 20-18 victory with the final kick of the game in front of a sold-out Sportsground.
Following the Wasps ore-season fixture, all eyes will be on the Sportsground on Saturday, August 26 when recently departed Connacht head coach Pat Lam brings his Bristol side to Galway for a highly-anticipated final pre-season clash (kick-off 3pm).
