IRFU’s TackleSMART Promotes Better Technique For Young Players

The IRFU has launched a video tutorial resource called TackleSMART which promotes correct and safe tackle technique for a variety of tackle scenarios.

Pat Lam, Les Kiss, Jacques Nienaber and Girvan Dempsey shared their expertise to illustrate how correct tackle technique is also the safest tackle technique.
 
TackleSMART provides a suite of videos featuring minis, girls and youth players with clear and easy to understand technical direction on how to track an attacker and how to complete a front on tackle, a tackle from the side and a tackle from behind.
