Ireland Under-18s Enjoy Three-Day Training Camp

Two Ireland Under-18 squads gathered in Dublin for a three-day camp from December 28-30. We take a look at the work done with the Ireland U-18 Schools and Ireland U-18 Clubs sides.

The Ireland Under-18 Clubs & Schools selection, under the direction of Mark Butler, trained at Lansdowne FC, while the Ireland Schools group – coached by Noel McNamara – were based at St Michael’s College. John McKinney is the Ireland Schools team manager.

Over the course of the three days, the players attended a number of workshops including “How to Plan your Week“, “Coping Mechanisms” and “Key Principles“, as well as team strategy meetings and on-field sessions.

The camp culminated in a practice match between the two squads last Friday at St. Michael’s College.

In April of this year, the Ireland Under-18 Schools squad will participate in three games in Cardiff as part of a Five Nations tournament, while the Ireland U-18 Clubs & Schools squad will host England in two fixtures in Dublin.
