Munster’s Cronin Cited For Alleged Stamp

A citing has occurred as a result of the Leinster v Munster GUINNESS PRO12 derby match at the Aviva Stadium last Saturday.

Munster’s replacement prop James Cronin has been cited by the citing commissioner in charge for alleged foul play in the 73rd minute against Leinster’s Jamison Gibson Park under Law 10.4 (b) – stamping on an opponent.

A disciplinary hearing will be held in Glasgow this Wednesday. A list of the range of sanctions can be found via World Rugby at: http://www.worldrugby.org/text/155111.

Meanwhile, Keith Earls and Dave Kilcoyne will follow the return-to-play protocols this week for concussions sustained during Munster’s 25-14 defeat to Leinster in Dublin.

In the weekend’s Ulster Bank League action, Cathal Sheridan sustained a leg fracture during UL Bohemians’ win over Galwegians and is awaiting a specialist opinion.

Colm O’Shea is another waiting on a specialist opinion after picking up a knee injury in Clontarf’s victory over Garryowen. John Andress did not train today and will continue his treatment with the Munster medical team for a knee injury sustained during Shannon’s loss to Nass.

Andrew Conway continues to follow the return-to-play protocols for concussion, while Jean Kleyn (ankle), Dave O’Callaghan (shoulder), Kevin O’Byrne (elbow), Sam Arnold (knee), Mark Chisholm (concussion), Sean McCarthy (knee), Francis Saili (shoulder), Mike Sherry (back) and Dave Foley (elbow) are also currently working through their rehab programmes.
