Aki And Buckley Sidelined For Connacht

Ahead of the GUINNESS PRO12 round 21 fixture away to Benetton Treviso on Friday night (kick-off 7.30pm), the Connacht medical team have provided the following update.

Tiernan O’Halloran, AJ MacGinty and Jake Heenan have all recovered from their respective lower limb injuries to resume full training. The trio are all expected to be available for selection this week.

The westerners’ medical team also confirmed that Bundee Aki suffered a knee injury during the recent derby victory over Munster. The 26-year-old centre has been ruled out of this week’s trip to Italy and will continue to be progressed under the supervision of the medical and fitness teams.

In more unfortunate news, prop Denis Buckley sustained a fracture to his ankle in training last Friday and will be unavailable for at least the next two games against Treviso and defending league champions Glasgow Warriors.
