Dillane Wins Connacht Player Of The Month Award

With almost 60% of the votes, Connacht lock Ultan Dillane has been awarded the province’s Player of the Month award for December 2015, in association with Hartmanns of Galway and Seiko Watches.

Ultan Dillane, who graduated to a senior contract after three years in the Connacht Academy, has featured in ten games for the westerners this season and started both home games in December against Newcastle Falcons and Ulster.

French-born but raised in his mother’s native Kerry, the 22-year-old was named as one of four uncapped players in Joe Schmidt’s Ireland squad for the upcoming RBS 6 Nations. The statuesque lock has previously represented Ireland at both Under-18 Clubs and Under-19 level.

Richard Hartmann, Director of Hartmann Jewellers, added: “We have known that Ultan was a great prospect for Connacht for some time and now he is getting recognition at another level in the Ireland squad. Everyone at Hartmanns is delighted for him and really pleased to be able to present him with his first Player of the Month award. I would say it’s the first of many.”

Hartmanns of Galway are the leading store in the west of Ireland stocking a huge array of the world’s top watch and Jewellery brands. They have been long-time supporters of Connacht Rugby.
