Six Changes Made To Ulster ‘A’ Team

Ulster ‘A’ head coach Alex Codling has named his starting team to face a Scarlets Premiership Select in British & Irish Cup round 4 at Eaton Park on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 2.30pm).

There are six new faces to the side that defeated the Welshmen 27-19 at Parc y Scarlets last weekend. Three of those come in the pack as Peter Browne and John Donnan form an all-new second row partnership, while Conor Joyce comes in to fill the blindside flanker position.

Captain Willie Faloon and Stephen Mulholland are the other loose forwards, while Callum Black, John Andrew and Jonny Simpson continue together in the front row.

Scrum half Paul Rowley, who featured for Ballynahinch recently in the Ulster Bank League, and wingers Connor Young and Adam Liddell are the newcomers in an exciting back-line.

Mark Best and Callum Patterson are retained in midfield, with Sam Windsor named at outhalf and Hughes Insurance Academy player Robert Lyttle at full-back.

The forwards-dominated bench features front rowers Johnny Murphy, Ruaidhri Murphy and Ross Kane, along with Academy back row duo Nick Timoney and Lorcan Dow. Malone’s Josh Pentland and Andrew Magrath from hos club Ballymena are the other reserves.

Replacements: Johnny Murphy, Ruaidhri Murphy, Ross Kane, Nick Timoney, Lorcan Dow, Josh Pentland, Andrew Magrath.
