Audio-Descriptive Commentary Now Available At Kingspan Stadium

Ulster Rugby will launch a pilot audio-descriptive commentary programme for the 2015/16 season at Friday night’s sold-out European Champions Cup game against Saracens.

Helping to ensure that Kingspan Stadium is inclusive for all, a dedicated team of volunteers will provide descriptive match commentary to enhance the match experience for people affected by sight or hearing loss.

Following a robust recruitment process, five volunteers were invited to join Ulster’s match night team. Pictured above, from left to right, are Connor, Paul, Chloe, Sam and Graham.

Starting approximately 10 minutes prior to kick-off, the team will set the scene for the night, commentate throughout the match and during half-time.

If you would like to avail of the match commentary at the Saracens game, you should contact Jennifer McFedries in the Ulster Rugby Ticket Office prior to 1pm this Friday –  jennifer.mcfedries@ulsterrugby.com.

Having pre-booked the equipment, please call into reception anytime from gates opening until kick-off to meet a member of the team and to collect your headset and receiver.

Ulster Rugby Season Ticket holders will simply need to show their season ticket and leave their contact details when collecting the equipment. All other supporters will be asked to leave a small refundable cash deposit of £10 or €;10, in addition to your contact details.

Equipment must be returned to reception within 30 minutes of the termination of the match.
