Ulster Bank League: Division 2C Previews

Five wins out of five for the table topping Old Crescent in Division 2C, but Wanderers a re just a point behind. All set up nicely then for their match in Rosbrien on Saturday.

Bruff (3^rd) v Midleton (5^th), Kilballyowen Park
Bruff have won four from five to date, their last a 23-12 win on the road to Boyne.

Midleton have won one less but are just three points behind. They lost to leaders Old Crescent in their last game.

Both sides have picked up two try bonuses to date but this could be a tight affair.

Navan (7^th) v Kanturk (6^th), Balreask Old
Navan scored 40 points to beat Dundalk in their last game and moved up to 7^th as a result. They will want to continue that upward trajectory this weekend.

Kanturk conceded 44 to Tullamore as they slipped to 6^th. They need to win if they are to stay in touch with the top four.

Relatively evenly matched on paper but home advantage and the tighter defence to date may give Navan the edge.

Old Crescent (1^st) v Wanderers (2^nd), Rosbrien
Match of the day in Division 2C and a potential cracker to boot.

Unbeaten in five games and with the tightest defence – just 65 conceded – the home side seem well set.

Their visitors, however, have picked up three try bonuses thus far. Not quite season defining but a crucial game well worth catching.

Sligo (9^th) v Dundalk (10^th), Hamilton Park
The bottom two sides face off in Strandhill on Saturday in what is already something of a relegation battle.

Neither side have won in the league this season, though Sligo have picked up two losing bonus points.

Newly promoted Dundalk have yet to find their feet this season.

Tullamore (4^th) v Boyne (8^th), Spollanstown
A reasonable start to the league campaign for Tullamore – three wins, two try bonuses and a losing point from their two losses.

Boyne with only one win less look less comfortable in 9^th place and have lost their last two games.

The home side should be strong enough to take the points.
