Connacht Lose Cooney And Carr To Injury

Ahead of Connacht’s GUINNESS PRO12 round 4 game at home to Zebre on Friday night, the province’s medical team have provided the following update.

Prop JP Cooney, who has appeared off the bench in all three matches so far this season, dislocated his shoulder in the final minutes of the recent bonus point win over Cardiff Blues.

The 25-year-old underwent stabilisation surgery on Friday and is expected to be sidelined for up to four months.

Winger Fionn Carr suffered a low grade calf strain in training yesterday which has ruled him out of action for Friday’s clash with Zebre at the Sportsground.

Meanwhile, after missing out in the last round, Rodney Ah You, Eoghan Masterson and Ultan Dillane have all completed their respective rehab programmes. All three have returned to full training and are available to the Connacht coaching team this week.

Also returning to full training but after a longer spell on the sidelines are Ronan Loughney and Conor Finn. The Galway-born duo are expected to line out for their respective clubs, Galwegians and Buccaneers, in the Ulster Bank League this weekend.
