O’Brien Cited For ‘Alleged Act Of Foul Play’

Ireland flanker Sean O’Brien has been cited by independent citing commissioner Dougie Hunter (Scotland) for an alleged act of foul play contrary to Law 10.4(a) during yesterday’s Pool D decider with France.

Law 10.4(a) deals with striking and the citing relates to an incident involving Sean O’Brien and France lock Pascal Pape during the opening minute of the game at the Millennium Stadium.

The hearing will take place at 1pm tomorrow at the offices of RWC 2015 official law firm Clifford Chance in London. The case will be heard by independent judicial officer Terry Willis (Australia).

Meanwhile, Argentina centre Marcelo Bosch has been cited for a dangerous tackle during yesterday’s pool victory over Nambia in Leicester. His hearing (time to be confirmed) will also take place tomorrow afternoon at the Clifford Chance offices.
