Connacht Trio Return To Full Training

Ahead of Connacht’s GUINNESS PRO12 round 3 game at home to Cardiff Blues, the province’s medical team have provided the following injury update.

Eoin McKeon, Darragh Leader and Niyi Adeolokun have all completed their respective rehab programmes. All three have returned to full training and are available to the Connacht coaching team this week.

Ben Marshall fractured a bone in his forearm during the second half of the match against Glasgow Warriors on September 11. It is expected that the lock will be out of action for another six weeks.

While playing for UCD in last Saturday’s Ulster Bank League win over Young Munster, Connacht centre David McSharry broke his finger. He underwent surgery yesterday but is expected to be sidelined for up to eight weeks.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old back rower Eoghan Masterson suffered a hamstring strain in training last week. While unavailable for the clash with Cardiff, the Portlaoise man is expected to return for the Zebre game on October 16.

Versatile back Shane O’Leary sustained a concussion while Ulster Bank League rugby with Galwegians. He is unavailable to play while completing the return-to-play protocols.
