GUINNESS PRO12: Round 2 Preview

After a crackling opening round when 242 points were racked up by the twelve competing teams, the GUINNESS PRO12 is back in action this weekend with more top flight fixtures.

Title holders Glasgow Warriors, having lost their impressive home record to the Scarlets last weekend, will be anxious not to succumb to back-to-back defeats when Connacht are the visitors on Friday night.

The Scarlets will themselves be defending an impressive home record on Saturday, this time against Irish opposition when Ulster come to town.

Also on Saturday, Cardiff Blues, fresh from their record-equalling victory over Zebre, will again be making history if they overcome Leinster at the RDS in Dublin. They have not won in the city since a trip to Donnybrook in 2004.

Elsewhere, the first PRO12 game in Italy this season will be played at the Stadio di Monigo, with Benetton Treviso looking to repeat their 2014 victory over Edinburgh.

The round kicks off in Newport on Friday night when visitors Zebre will be keen to overturn their fortunes following their trip to Cardiff, while it wraps up at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday, Munster being the last PRO12 team to defeat hosts, the Ospreys, at the Swansea venue in February 2014.
