Back Rower McKeon Ruled Out For Three Weeks

Ahead of Connacht’s GUINNESS PRO12 round 2 trip to defending champions Glasgow Warriors, the province’s medical team have provided the following update.

Kieran Marmion sustained a hip pointer and was replaced after 14 minutes of Connacht’s 29-23 home victory over the Newport Gwent Dragons. The bruising had subsided by Monday morning but the Ireland scrum half will continue to be monitored ahead of the team announcement on Thursday.

Winger Matt Healy suffered a haematoma to his left quad during Friday night’s game. He was rested from training on Monday and will also continue to be monitored throughout the week.

Back rower Eoin McKeon injured his medial collateral ligament (knee) in the GUINNESS PRO12 opener and is expected to be out of action for up to three weeks which should put him in back in contention for the round 3 clash with Cardiff Blues.

Meanwhile, centre Dave McSharry has completed the return-to-play protocols following concussion on August 21 and returns to full training this week.
