Knee Injury Sidelines Connacht Centre McSharry

It has been confirmed that Connacht centre Dave McSharry suffered a grade 2 PCL tear to his knee during a recent training session. Recovery time for the 25-year-old is likely to be from eight to ten weeks.

Following the province’s disappointing GUINNESS PRO12 derby defeat to Munster, the Connacht medical team provided the following injury update.

Back rower Eoin McKeon, who came on as a second half replacement, suffered a concussion during the game at Thomond Park.

He failed the pitchside concussion test and will be required to undergo the HIA return-to-play protocols this week. His progress will be monitored ahead of the squad’s departure on Thursday for their European Challenge Cup quarter-final against Gloucester.

Centre Conor Finn, on his first PRO12 start, sustained a knee injury during the second half. The 22-year-old is due to undergo a MRI scan later today to determine the extent of the damage and an update will be provided during the week.

Pat Lam’s men will take on Gloucester Friday night’s Challenge Cup quarter-final clash at Kingsholm (kick-off 7.45pm).
