Highfield Reach Fourth All-Ireland Cup Final In A Row

Highfield and Railway Union will contest the final of the 2015 Women’s All-Ireland Cup after their wins last weekend.

HIghfield’s 12 – 5 win over UL Bohemians means they have reached the final for the fourth year in a row – a truly remarkable feat in cup rugby.

The Cork side lost in the 2012 final to Galwegians but went on to beat UL Boh’s in the 2013 final. Last year they lost to Galwegians again.

That experience will stand to them when they play the rising stars of Railway Union who beat Blackrock by 19 – 13 in the other semi final.

In the shield competition Queen’s, who had a walkover to the final, will face a St. Mary’s side who beat New Ross by 19 – 5.

In the plate Old Belvedere’s J1 side booked their place in the final by beating Enniskillen 21 – 15. They will face the winner of the game between Rathdrum and Shannon next weekend.

The three finals are scheduled for Saturday March 28th in St. Mary’s College RFC, Templeville Road.
