Scannell Named Ulster Bank League Rising Star Of The Month

Rory Scannell of Dolphin RFC has been announced as the Ulster Bank League Division 1A Rising Star of the Month for January. He will now be shortlisted for the overall Ulster Bank Rising Star of the Year honour at the Ulster Bank League Awards, taking place in May.

Rory Scannell has had a great season to date for both his club and province with fantastic performances at out-half and centre that have demonstrated the potential of the talented 21-year-old.

Notably, the former Ireland Under-20 international made his first start at number 10 for Munster against Cardiff Blues last month, which was his second PRO12 appearance of the season.

Scannell is the third Ulster Bank League Rising Star of the Month award winner for the 2014/15 season, with Cian Kelleher of Lansdowne and Cork Constitution’s Tomás Quinlan chosen as previous winners.

Now in its fifth year as Official Community Partner to the IRFU, Ulster Bank continues to show their dedication to grassroots rugby through their sponsorship of the Ulster Bank League, the Ulster Bank League Awards and the return of their successful club initiative, Ulster Bank RugbyForce.
