Boost For Irish Rugby

The much-loved Cadbury Boost was today unveiled as the official chocolate bar of the IRFU at the launch of the new partnership between Cadbury and the IRFU. Fresh from the historic win over France, Ireland winger and new Cadbury ambassador Tommy Bowe was on hand at the Aviva Stadium today to make the announcement.

The partnership also sees Cadbury Boost become the official sponsor of Touch rugby as the IRFU look to develop the sport nationwide in 2015.

The fast-paced, limited-contact version of rugby is extremely popular in the southern Hemisphere and is played by men and women of all ages.

Cadbury Boost, formerly named Moro, will be supporting Touch rugby events across the country this summer, from open-days to learn the basic rules to festival style events and Touch leagues.

Speaking at the launch, Shane Guest, Mondeléz International, Senior Brand Manager, commented: “We are absolutely delighted and very proud to announce our new partnership with the IRFU. It is a very exciting time for rugby in this country, with Irish teams inspiring a generation of future players.

“Touch is a fantastic sport which is easily accessible for everyone and this new initiative will help make rugby even more accessible to more people through this exciting Touch format.”

Also speaking at the launch, Padraig Power, the IRFU Director of Commercial and Marketing, said: “We the IRFU are delighted to be partnering up with Cadbury Boost. We are really excited about the potential for Touch rugby in Ireland, and with the support of Cadbury Boost we look forward to being able to deliver an exciting fast paced variation of the game which will drive interest and help to grow participation of our sport.”

To celebrate the sponsorship, Cadbury Boost is offering fans a chance to win a pair of tickets to watch Ireland take on England at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday, March 1.

To win, just log on to the Cadbury Ireland Facebook page at www.facebook.com/cadburyireland and boost your passion for Irish rugby. Competition runs until Tuesday, February 24. Terms and conditions apply.
