Marmion To Miss Connacht’s Clash With Dragons

Following a disappointing result away to the Scarlets last weekend, the Connacht squad are determined to get back to winning ways against the Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade on Sunday (kick-off 4pm).

The Welsh side are currently tenth in the GUINNESS PRO12 but are coming into this game on the back of an impressive 16-14 win over Leinster at the RDS.

In advance of the team announcement on Friday, the Connacht medical team provided the following update on two of the province’s backs.

Scrum half Kieran Marmion sustained a grade 1 AC joint sprain during the opening half of last Sunday’s PRO12 game in Llanelli. He will miss this week’s match in Newport but is expected to return to play next week.

Meanwhile, out-half/centre Craig Ronaldson has returned to full training following the quad injury he sustained in the warm-up prior to the Connacht v Exeter Chiefs clash in January. He is available for selection this week.
