Harris-Wright Facing Six Months On Sidelines

Connacht hooker Jason Harris-Wright was replaced during the first half of last weekend’s bonus point win Zebre at the Sportsground, having gone down with a knee injury.

An MRI scan was performed on Jason Harris-Wright yesterday and the Connacht Rugby medical team have confirmed that he has ruptured the ACL in his right knee.

Surgery will be scheduled for later this week but the 26-year-old front rower is likely to be out of action for up to six months.

Commenting on the disappointing news, Connacht head coach Pat Lam said: “I am so disappointed for Jason because he has just come off a long-term injury. He had got himself into great shape and was playing really well, hence the reason he started last week. It is terrible news for him.

“But from talking with Jason he knows that he has the best S&C and medical team to get him back in to the right frame over the coming months. He’ll still be very much part of the team once he begins his rehab.”
