Ireland Medical Bulletin

The medical team for the Ireland squad have released the following update from the Irish camp which disperses today following the completion of the 2014 GUINNESS Series.

Gordon D’Arcy, Rob Kearney, Jonathan Sexton –

Gordon, Rob and Jonathan were removed from the field of play with suspected concussions. They underwent the HIA (Head Injury Assessment) and were assessed again today by the Irish medical team. 
 
They will complete the HIA process with a further assessment after 48 hours and will follow the return to play protocols at their respective provinces.
 
In addition, Rob had a scan today after taking a knock to his shoulder during the game.
 
Conor Murray –

Conor was removed from the field of play to undergo the HIA. Conor completed the HIA to the satisfaction of the matchday doctor and was cleared to return to the field. 
 
Conor was assessed today and will be assessed again after 48 hours as he completes the HIA process.
 
General Squad –

A number of the squad reported bumps and bruises but nothing of concern following an intense three weeks of Test rugby.
