Bowe Signs New Three Year IRFU Contract

The IRFU and Ulster are pleased to announce that Tommy Bowe has signed a new Irish contract with the IRFU. The deal will run until June 2018.

Tommy made his competitive senior debut for Ulster against Connacht in April 2004 and has since made 124 appearances for Ulster scoring 48 tries.   

He made his Ireland debut against the USA in November 2004 and the 30 year old has gone on to win 55 caps for Ireland scoring 27 tries.

Bowe has twice toured with the British & Irish Lions in 2009 and 2013 playing in all three Tests in South Africa and in two Tests in Australia.  He was a member of the 2009 Grand Slam winning team and was named RBS Player of the Championship in 2010.

IRFU Performance Director David Nucifora, said, “We are delighted that Tommy has committed his future to Ulster and Ireland for the next three years.  Tommy has proven his value to Irish rugby over the years with stand-out performances for both Ulster and Ireland.”

Ulster CEO Shane Logan said: “It is a great boost to the province that Tommy has signed a new IRFU contract which keeps him at Ulster.  We have seen what he brings to the squad both on and off the pitch and he is one of the players that makes Ulster Rugby such an exciting place to be.”

Commenting on the new contract Tommy Bowe said: “I am delighted to have signed a new contract with the IRFU and Ulster. It is an exciting time for both the province and the national team and I hope to play a part in achieving success on both fronts in the years to come.”
