In Pics: Ireland Players & Coaches Meet Joost Van Der Westhuizen

Friday saw the Ireland squad and management host legendary Springbok scrum half Joost van der Westhuizen at lunch in the team hotel in Dublin.

The Ireland players and coaches were delighted to have the opportunity to spend some time with 1995 Rugby World Cup winner Joost van der Westhuizen, who played 89 times for South Africa during his Test career.

A tweet from Joost afterwards read: “Thank you for inviting us to lunch. It was an absolute privilege meeting you.”

The IRFU, together with the Irish camp, would like to extend their best wishes to Joost and his family as they continue their campaign to raise awareness of motor neuron disease.
