Dates Confirmed For Connacht’s Back-To-Back Bayonne Games

The dates and kick-off times for the key back-to-back round 3 and 4 fixtures of the inaugural European Rugby Challenge Cup were announced by EPCR, the tournament organisers, today.

The first Pool 2 meeting of Connacht and Bayonne at the Sportsground has been set for Saturday, December 6 with a kick-off time of 5pm. Tickets for this fixture are on sale now.

A week later, Pat Lam’s men are at Stade Jean Dauger for the round 4 reverse fixture on Saturday, December 13 with a late kick-off at of 8.45pm.

FULL FIXTURES LIST FOR CHALLENGE CUP ROUNDS 3 AND 4

Connacht team manager Tim Allnutt said at last week’s tournament launch: “We have played something like 98 games in the Challenge Cup and we’ve enjoyed some great seasons in the competition. Our supporters will remember big days at the Sportsground such as the semi-final with Toulon back in 2010.

“It’s a great competition and we’ve some tough pool games to get our teeth into this season. Exeter have had a fantastic start to their Premiership campaign and we always relish games with the French teams.

“Both La Rochelle and Bayonne have had mixed results but have shown that they are extremely tough to beat at home so we’ll be taking nothing for granted.”

The Challenge Cup fixtures were finalised following the confirmation of EPCR’s French broadcast platform last week. The round 5 and 6 fixtures will be announced in December following the completion of round 4.
