Loughney And Healy Available For Connacht’s Treviso Test

Ahead of their departure to Dublin on Wednesday and then Italy on Thursday morning, the Connacht squad were back to work at the Sportsground on Sunday to prepare for their GUINNESS PRO12 round 6 clash with Benetton Treviso.

Following the 24-24 draw with Cardiff Blues in Galway, there were no major injury concerns reported by the Connacht medical team.

Prop Ronan Loughney left the pitch early in the first half for a precautionary pitch-side concussion test but was passed fit to return to the game. The Galway man took part in full training on Monday.

Winger Matt Healy sat out the last round of PRO12 action as he was required to undergo the return-to-play protocols following a head knock sustained in the recent defeat to Glasgow.

The 25-year-old has now returned to full training and will be available to head coach Pat Lam for selection this week.

Meanwhile, Galway back Conor Finn, who lined out on the wing for Connacht Eagles in their 26-24 interpro win over Ulster Ravens last Thursday, suffered a hip injury and is in doubt for any game-time this week.

The Eagles travel to England to take on Bristol in the opening round of the British & Irish Cup. Kick-off at Ashton Gate Stadium on Sunday is 3pm.
