Connacht’s O’Halloran To Undergo Knee Surgery

Following their one-point win over defending GUINNESS PRO12 champions Leinster, the Connacht squad were back in the Sportsground on Sunday afternoon to review the game and begin work ahead of this week’s trip to Glasgow.

The second-placed Glasgow Warriors and Connacht, who are third in the table, will go head to head at Scotstoun Stadium on Friday (kick-off 7.35pm), as both teams bid to keep their winning run intact.

There were some sore bodies following the bruising derby encounter with Leinster, but the Connacht medical team reported no serious injuries. Flanker Willie Faloon and winger Niyi Adeolokun, who had to be replaced on Friday night, both returned to training on Monday in Galway.

Danie Poolman also resumed training earlier in the week after recovering from the illness that kept him out of the interprovincial game.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Galway-born back Tiernan O’Halloran will undergo surgery on a troublesome knee tomorrow. The 23-year-old is expected to be sidelined for a further three to four weeks.

The westerners’ matchday squad that will depart for Glasgow on Thursday will be announced at noon that day.
