The IRFU, in partnership with official kit supplier Canterbury, aim to significantly increase its online sales of official IRFU merchandise through a brand new webshop which is fully integrated into IrishRugby.ie – the union’s official website.
Over 300 products will be available to purchase in the IRFU’s webshop over the coming weeks, including replica jerseys, official training kit, leisurewear, baselayer, kids wear and accessories.
The webshop has been designed to support not just fixed portals but also mobile devices to meet the growing trend of customers purchasing through their smart phones and other handheld devices.
Padraig Power, IRFU Director of Commercial & Marketing, commented: “The quality of the products available, the increased product range, a more user friendly interface and the back-up support and experience of our partners Canterbury will facilitate a better customer experience and help drive sales across this new platform.”
Product distribution will be managed through an exclusive deal with An Post to ensure speedy delivery of purchased items.
The IRFU and Canterbury will launch the new Ireland jersey in late September at a special event which will be attended by members of the Ireland senior squad.
