When Volkswagen Tag Returned To Portstewart

On the beautiful Causeway Coast, teams got together again for a day of tag rugby at Portstewart Strand. This fine white sand beach is a firm favourite amongst taggers and last week was no exception. 

Three pitches were lined out due to the increase in teams upon last year. This rise in team numbers will undoubtedly continue in 2015 given the enthusiastic feedback throughout the day. 

With three tables of teams finishing up their games mid-afternoon, everyone was in the running for silverware and the semi-finals went as follows:-

Teams later met up at The Anchor in Portstewart for some gratefully received food. Trophy presentations took place there at half-time of the Argentina v Ireland test which was shown live and then the DJ took over making sure everyone present enjoyed a great evening.

We cannot wait until next year’s event which will prove even bigger and better. 

Teams eager to give beach tag a try have one more chance this Summer to do so with the venue being Strandhill in Co.Sligo, another firm favourite.
