DLSP Relaunch Women’s Rugby At The Club

De La Salle Palmerston FC in Kilternan, County Dublin are relaunching Women’s rugby at the club – at adult, Under-18 and Under-15 levels.

Come along to the DLSP Women’s Open Day at Kirwan Park this Saturday from 10am to 12.30pm – and make sure to bring a friend! It is open to anyone over 13 years of age.

Don’t worry if you have never played before, fully qualified coaches will be on hand.

De La Salle hope to run full contact and Touch rugby teams subject to demand. If you have any queries, please contact Suzanne Treacy on 0851458500 or by email: sutreacy@gmail.com.

Suzanne spoke about the Open Day during an interview with Bob Hallion of DSFM. Click here to listen.

“It’s about five years since we had a Women’s team at DLSP. It’s a great time to bring it back now with the work that the Ireland Women’s team have done (in boosting the profile of the game),” she said.

“You really don’t need to know the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of rugby or to have played it at all. Every help will be there for you.

“We have a huge catchment area, we go from Enniskerry to Milltown. There are no other clubs in that area offering Women’s rugby. The Leinster Branch have come on board and have been really supportive of us in trying to get this off the ground.”
