Munster Wait On O’Mahony And Laulala Updates

Following on from a weekend of mixed results with defeat in the British & Irish Cup and an impressive Heineken Cup victory, the Munster squad reported for duty this morning in their respective centres and had an afternoon of reviews and previews with Glasgow Warriors up next on Saturday.

The province’s captain Peter O’Mahony underwent a scan earlier today and the injury to his left shoulder from the Toulouse game will be reviewed further tomorrow evening when he meets with a specialist.

O’Mahony was replaced by CJ Stander in the 19th minutes of Saturday’s European quarter-final after over-extending his left shoulder.

It has been revealed that centre Casey Laulala, one of Munster’s try scorers against Toulouse, sustained a broken bone in his right hand and he too will meet with the specialist tomorrow for a further update.

There was positive news for Academy prop Rory Burke as he received the all-clear from an X-ray and post-match scan of the neck injury he sustained against Leinster ‘A’ in last Friday’s British & Irish Cup semi-final.
