Ireland Women Await Rugby World Cup Draw

The International Rugby Board has announced that the 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup pool allocation draw will be streamed live next Wednesday from Paris, France.

The draw will take place at Hotel de Ville, Paris, on Wednesday, October 30, with the broadcast beginning at 11.30am local time/10.30am Irish time.

With less than a year until kick-off, anticipation and excitement is already building ahead of the pinnacle of the women’s game.

Champions New Zealand will be eagerly watching to see who they will be drawn against as they look to retain their crown in Paris next August.

The tournament takes place from August 1 to 17, with matches played at FFR Marcoussis, and the semi-finals and final played at Stade Jean Bouin in the French capital.

IRB Chairman Bernard Lapasset and FFR President Pierre Camou will be among those in attendance at the event, at the invitation of the Mayor of Paris.

France captain Marie Alice Yahe and England’s Danielle Waterman, who starred in her country’s World Cup run in 2010, will be among those on hand for the live draw.

The event will be streamed live on www.rwcwomens.com next Wednesday. More information on the showpiece event can be found on this site in the run-up to #WRWC2014.

The 12 teams qualified for the 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup are:

New Zealand, England, Australia (Band 1)

Canada, USA, France (Band 2)

IRELAND, Wales, Spain (Band 3)

Kazakhstan, Samoa, South Africa (Band 4)

Teams will be drawn into three pools from the four bands. Match schedules will be announced at a later date.
