Connacht Eagles Get Set For Busy Campaign

The Connacht Eagles are Connacht Rugby’s ‘A’ side, competing in the British & Irish Cup as well as having interprovincial fixtures against Leinster, Munster and Ulster. The side is made up of professional, development, Academy and club players.

The British & Irish Cup features 24 teams playing in six pools of four. Four Principality Premiership teams will now represent Wales in the competition, joining the 12 clubs from the Engish Championship as well as four from each of Ireland and Scotland.

The Connacht Eagles have been drawn in Pool 3 with Bedford Blues, Rotherham Titans and a Welsh team to be decided following regional play-offs at the start of this new season.

The Eagles kick off their 2013/14 season with the first interpro clash against Munster ‘A’ next Wednesday (September 1) (Musgrave Park, kick-off 5pm).

A week later, the developing Connacht side will welcome Leinster ‘A’ to the Sportsground for a 6pm kick-off on Thursday, September 19.
