Connacht To Train In Castlebar And Westport

On the back of the success of the first open trainin session in Tuam RFC last week, Connacht have confirmed that the next session will take place in Mayo next Wednesday (August 28).

As part of this year’s Outreach & Engagement Programme, head coach Pat Lam will take the full Connacht squad to visit Castlebar RFC in the morning and Westport RFC after lunch next Wednesday.

The morning session in Castlebar will start at approximately 10.30am with the players moving on to Westport for a 1.30pm start.

It is free entry for all and the day will consist of fun rugby drills and games with the Connacht players and kids attending. There will be a chance for autographs and photos as well as a chat with the Connacht coaches and squad.

Kids are advised to come in their rugby gear and be ready to play with the Connacht squad.

The visit forms part of this year’s Outreach & Engagement Programme for the westerners that will see at least one open training session held in a different location every month, giving players the opportunity to train and meet supporters throughout the province.
