IRFU Launch Concussion Awareness Poster

The IRFU medical department have launched a concussion awareness poster for the 2013-14 season aimed at all levels of the game.

Players are advised to follow the traffic light system of ‘Stop, Inform, Rest, Return’ and all players, coaches and officials are reminded that any player with a suspected concussion must be removed immediately from training/play and should be medically assessed.

A copy of the poster has been posted to 350 clubs and schools throughout Ireland and if you would like one please email sportsmedicine@irfu.ie  with your name and full postal address.

The poster forms part of the SAFE-Rugby programme that provides rugby specific first aid training to clubs and schools.


Level 1 courses are for club and school coaches, officials, referees, parents/guardians (1 day) and level 2 courses are for medical/paramedical staff (1 day)
