Girls Grand Slam Blitz In Wicklow

On Saturday the 27th of April at noon over 160 U-18 girls form all over the province will descend on Wicklow Rugby club to join in a celebration of what has been a year of historic firsts for Womens Rugby in Ireland.

Wicklow U-18 Girls have just completed a historic season with a win over Mullingar in the Leinster League.

To celebrate this and the wider season of success in Women’s Rugby the club are hosting an U-18 Girls blitz on Saturday April 27th.

Pride of place will go to Ireland out half Nora Stapleton and members of the Ireland team who will bring the Grand Slam trophy to the club on the day.

Eighteen clubs are coming together for an end of season blitz: Cill Dara, Kilkenny, Mullingar, Naas, New Ross, Portarlington, Portlaoise, Tullow and Wicklow from the Leinster League along with girls from Arklow, Barnhall, Clane, Enniscorthy,Greystones, St Marys, Wexford and Westmonstown.

Some of the teams will be combining to form a Baa Baa’s selection to compete in this end of season 15 a side blitz.

Along with photo opportunities with both the International players and the Grand slam trophy, there will be over 20 matches to entertain spectators.

BBQ, Teas, Coffees, cakes and Tuck shop will also be available for refreshments. So why not come along and see all the best girls in Leinster underage girls Rugby has to offer and enjoy a fun day out.
