Kearney And Sexton Visit Navan RFC

An excited crowd of rugby supporters gathered in Navan Rugby Club on Tuesday evening to welcome Rob Kearney and Jonathan Sexton, who took an evening away from the Ireland camp in Carton House to visit the County Meath club.

A mass of players from Navan RFC teams of all ages – boys and girls, men’s and ladies – as well as supporters from the wider Navan community gathered on the floodlit pitches, terrace and in the clubhouse to meet and greet Rob Kearney and Jonathan Sexton.

They were accompanied on the trip to Navan by the Irish squad’s manager Michael Kearney. The trio also met the Navan club dignitaries and presented a signed Ireland Jersey to the club.

Rob and Jonathan signed lots of Navan, Leinster and Ireland jerseys on the night and made themselves available for photos with the fans, delighting the energised crowd who gathered in advance of the visit.

The club were honoured by the visit which will buoy the spirits of Navan players on the pitch this week.

The display of such a huge number of welcoming supporters also demonstrated the appreciation by the Navan rugby community of the visit.
