Conway To Link Up With Munster

One of Leinster’s brightest young stars, Andrew Conway, is set to join Munster at the end of the current season on a two-year contract

Andrew Conway first came to prominence as a member of the Blackrock College Leinster Schools Senior Cup team and subsequently represented Ireland at Schools and Under-20 levels.

He scored a hat-trick of tries against Scotland at the IRB Junior World Championship two years ago, the same season that he helped the Ireland Under-20s lift the Six Nations title.

He was again a member of the Ireland Under-20 squad for the 2011 tournament in Italy, touching down against England, South Africa (2), Scotland and Wales.

Conway remains the joint top try scorer in Junior World Championship history, with his 10-try tally only being matched by New Zealand’s Zac Guildford.

Comfortable at full-back or on the wing, he made Leinster his debut as a 19-year-old in February 2010 when he came off the bench against the Scarlets.Further starts came against the Cardiff Blues and Connacht and another appearance off the bench against Glasgow Warriors.

The following season he made eight league appearances and chalked up tries against Benetton Treviso, the Ospreys and a crucial second half score in a 19-18 win over Edinburgh.

This season, Conway has made 10 appearances to date for Leinster and will hope for further first team recognition next year in the red of Munster.
