Exiles Under-18s Beat Welsh Counterparts

Last Sunday, at Old Deer Park – the spiritual home of the Welsh Exiles – the Irish Exiles pulled off a very good 27-15 victory.

Though shorn of some Ireland Under-18 squad members through school demands, it was an excellent result against a Welsh side coached by former Wales international and ex-Newport Gwent Dragons head coach, Paul Turner.

Particularly good performances were displayed by centre Alex Corry, out-half Matthew Killeen, lock Kieran Treadwell and openside flanker Joe Doyle.

This is a very promising Irish Exiles squad, the first to emerge from the new regional festival system, and it looks likely to produce a number of future age-group internationals.

Coached by former Exiles players Sam McKinney and Mark Jackson, the future looks bright for these Under-18 players.

The Irish Exiles’ tries were scored by Jack Lowbridge, Sean O’Hagan, Adam Kelly and Corry (2). A conversion was added by Joe Carolan.
