Reynecke Available Again For Connacht

The Connacht squad trained in Galway yesterday ahead of Friday’s RaboDirect PRO12 trip to face the Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade (kick-off 7pm).

The province’s South African hooker Ethienne Reynecke has returned from a recent calf injury and is available for selection this week.

Meanwhile, versatile forward George Naoupu is still nursing an ankle injury and will continue to be monitored over the next few weeks.

Thomas Anderson, Eoin Griffin, Frank Murphy, David Nolan and Kyle Tonetti remain unavailable for selection due to injury.

They have been joined on the westerners’ injury list by former captain John Muldoon, who tore his medial knee ligament during the Ireland XV’s win over Fiji last Saturday evening.

Connacht head coach Eric Elwood will announce his team and replacements to face the Dragons on Friday afternoon.
