Munster Monitor O’Donnell Injury

Munster are hopeful that the ankle injury sustained by Tommy O’Donnell in last Thursday’s ‘A’ interprovincial win over Leinster is not too serious.

At this stage Tommy O’Donnell has not been ruled out of consideration for next Sunday’s RaboDirect PRO12 match against the Scarlets, although it will be later in the week before a decision on his availability is made.

There is also the possibility that fellow back rowers James Coughlan and Niall Ronan could make a return to action in the next week or two.

That is welcome news for Rob Penney and his coaches given that Sean Dougall (knee) and Barry O’Mahony (groin) will be absent for the immediate future.

Meanwhile, hooker Sean Henry (thigh muscle) also ended that ‘A’ interpro fixture early and is another player whose availability will be decided upon later in the week.
