The Patrons Club Q&A night in the Aviva Stadium, barely 48 hours after Ireland’s loss to South Africa, proved to be a great success with players and members alike enjoying the event.

Over 300 members of the Patrons Club (Ten Year and Premium ticket holders) and their guests attended this exclusive event in the Presidents Area at the Aviva Stadium on Monday.

Ireland captain Jamie Heaslip braved some searching questions and was joined by man-of-the-match Mike ‘Big Daddy’ McCarthy, scrum half Conor Murray and flanker Chris Henry.

All four players reflected on the game and where things went against them on the day.

There were some light hearted moments too and the players were very open in answering the questions both personal and professional.

Jamie told the audience that despite being made captain of Ireland, the first words his father, a Colonel in the Irish Army, said to him on hearing the news were: ‘I still outrank you son’.

Following the Q&A the players were delighted to sign autographs and the attendees were able to relax and sample some of the fine food on offer in the stadium.
