O’Driscoll And Best Ruled Out Of GUINNESS Series

Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll and Ulster hooker Rory Best have both been ruled out of the GUINNESS Series due to their respective ankle and neck injuries.

Brian O’Driscoll picked up an ankle injury in Leinster’s game against the Cardiff Blues and following further scans and specialist review by the Ireland medical team, it has been decided that the injury will require surgery to repair ligament damage, ruling him out from playing for 8-12 weeks.

Rory Best has been ruled out of Ireland’s clashes with South Africa, Fiji and Argentina due to a neck injury he sustained last Friday playing in Ulster’s league encounter with the Dragons.

Following a scan and medical review, it was confirmed that Best has sprained ligaments in his neck which will require a rest and rehabilitation period of between 4-6 weeks before a further assessment of the injury.

Tickets are selling fast for all three GUINNESS Series games so do not miss your chance to watch your Irish rugby team in action – buy online now on ticketmaster.ie.
