Munster Delay Squad Announcement

With an ‘A’ interprovincial match against Connacht on Thursday and some additions to the injury list, Munster head coach Rob Penney has delayed naming his squad for the visit of the Newport Gwent Dragons to Thomond Park on Saturday.

Definitely out of consideration are James Coughlan (groin) and Luke O’Dea (ankle), while Denis Hurley (throat) and Ivan Dineen (stomach) are both on the sick list and missed today’s training session in Cork.

Despite media reports of the severity of Coughlan’s injury, the Dolphin clubman is not expected to know his fate until he sees a specialist tomorrow.

Simon Zebo is set to be included in the squad to face the Dragons as is Niall Ronan who came through the ‘A’ game against Ulster Ravens unscathed, having a 50-minute run-out at Deramore Park.

Prop John Ryan returned from his successful stint with London Irish and resumed training with Munster today, with a view to being involved in the Munster ‘A’ v Connacht Eagles match at Garryowen FC on Thursday.
