Honouring The Spence Family

Further to the death of Ulster centre Nevin Spence over the weekend, the RaboDirect PRO12 match between Zebre and Ulster – due to be played in Parma next Friday – has been postponed to a later date. A number of memorial tributes to Nevin and his family have also been announced.

An announcement will be made in due course with the rescheduled match information. A moment of silence will be observed at all RaboDirect PRO12 matches this coming weekend.

The IRFU will be requesting that all clubs and representative teams playing matches at the weekend observe a minute’s silence before kick-off and fly their club flag at half mast.

In addition, the naming of an Ireland squad for a training camp that is due to take place from next Sunday to Tuesday has been postponed until later this week.

Meanwhile, as a gesture of support, fans from the other provinces are hoping to give their own renditions of ‘Stand Up for the Ulstermen’ during their league games next Friday and Saturday.
