The guys and girls from ‘Can’t Tag This’ tag rugby team in Old Belvedere thought they were in for a treat when they won a skills training session with some IRFU Volkswagen Tag amabassadors and Irish Rugby internationals. They were right…..but they were made to sweat!
It was one of the few balmy evenings in the summer when ‘Can’t Tag This’ and their friends turned up at the back pitch of Aviva Stadium for a training session with a difference.
The coaches, fresh from their own pre-season session, were intent of making these guys and girls work hard! Ireland and Leinster stars Johnny Sexton, Eoin Reddan, Fergus McFadden and Kevin McLaughlin put the team through a series of warm ups and skill sessions before refereeing them ina final game of tag rugby.
Ireland scrum-half Eoin Reddan was impressed with the skill levels: “We did similar drills today with Leinster and I have to say the team here picked up on it very quickly. The passing skills were all very good”.
