Blackrock Women Looking For New Recruits

It’s that time of year again and the recruitment drive has begun with a bang in Blackrock R.F.C. women’s club. Although the club has been in existence for many years now the recruiters will be out in force to try to, once again, bring the best players to Blackrock.

Blackrock women’s team has a fine reputation in all of the Women’s competitions in Ireland and has won both the All Ireland Cup and League in the last 10 years.

The coaching staff includes Tania Rosser who had won every accolade in the Women’s game in this country; Cup, League and the Inter pros as recently as last season, as well as 49 caps for her country before turning her hand to coaching. She has the unique ability to improve every individual players skill set no matter what their level- all new players could possibly need is interest and drive and Tania will supply the finishing touches to make a good player into a great player.

The Stradbrook team have also got an exceptional history of contributing players to Leinster and Leinster U21- having the largest number of Provincial Representatives of all the clubs in Leinster. There is also a great history of players representing their country from the Blackrock Women’s team with in excess of 20 players going forward to bring the Blackrock colours to the International changing room.

Of late the team has contributed to the newly formed national Seven’s team who successfully qualified for the World Cup in 2013. Blackrock holds the All Ireland Club title for 2012 and on foot of winning that competition travelled alongside the Irish squad to Amsterdam to play in the open International competition there.

Despite all the achievements of the club and club players to date the ethos of the club has remained exactly as it was when it started, every player is trained to achieve their peak performance, every season matches are won and lost and performances are rewarded and mistakes are forgotten (unless they are very funny- in which case they are also rewarded) and tries are scored, line outs and scrums planned and executed, backs’ moves are imagined, invented and implemented but overall the most important part to the club itself has always been that each player gets something out of each session and that each game everyone gives it their best.

If you wish to become part of one of the best teams in Leinster e-mail blackrockladiesrfc@gmail.com  Every player is accommodated and improved!
