Ulster Draw Fans To Derry Training Session

The Ulster players and management got a taste of the support the province will have for the new season when they took part in a training and engagement day at City of Derry RFC last Thursday.

The event was very well attended with hundreds of Ulster fans, both young and old, getting a chance to meet the province’s players and see them train up close.

Mark Anscombe’s squad went through their paces at the Judge’s Road venue, taking part in an Open Training Session after the Derry youngsters had showed off their own skills in an earlier Mini Rugby Exhibition.

Ireland internationals Stephen Ferris, Paddy Wallace, Chris Henry and Tommy Bowe were among the most popular targets for the autograph hunters.

Returning winger Bowe also recently made a surprise visit to the Centra-sponsored Ulster Rugby Camp in Letterkenny where he was greeted by some thrilled youngsters.

Wrapping up the action in Derry, there was a Skills Challenge where some of the Ulster players passed on tips to current players and members of the public who could become potential Ulster stars of the future.
