Eat2Compete: Nutrition Advice For Young Players

Eat2Compete is a comprehensive guide for young players on nutrition for young players. The IRFU regularly holds nutrition advice seminars for coaches and the most recent, in conjunction with the National Dairy Council, was held in the Sportsground in Galway.

The Eat2Compete factsheets were created by the IRFU Nutrition Department to help young players understand their nutritional requirements – not just for playing rugby but for healthy growth and development.

The nutrition seminars are aimed specifically at coaches involved with young players and are design to give them all the necessary information they need to give the best advice to young players.

There are factsheets for all facets of nutrition including hydration, kit bag essentials, smoothie recipes and nutrition for the off season.

The  video features interviews with Ruth Wood-Martin, national team performance nutritionist, Ruth Kilcawley, Connacht Academy nutritionist, Caroline O’Donovan of the National Dairy Council and Erc Dunne who coaches the Under-15s in Galwegians.
